40th anniversary of rafting in Noguera Pallaresa awarded best getaway

The 40th anniversary of rafting in the Noguera Pallaresa has received the accolade for best getaway at the QuèFem? awards. Juli Alegre, director of the Patronat de Turisme de la Diputació de Lleida, and Flòrido Dolcet, president of the Associació d’Empreses d’Esports d’Aventura del Pallars Sobirà, accepted the award on Wednesday night during a ceremony held in Barcelona.

The QuèFem? is a leisure supplement of the newspaper La Vanguardia. In its verdict, it stated that rafting in Noguera Pallaresa has established “the Pyrenees as a benchmark for adventure sports” and has contributed to “the tourist and economic development of the region.”

Alegre and Dolcet expressed their gratitude for the recognition, stating that it is “an acknowledgment of all the people, companies, and institutions that, over these four decades, have made Noguera Pallaresa a reference for white-water sports.” They also highlighted that the anniversary and the award serve as “a tribute to the pioneers who believed in the river's potential and to an entire tourism sector that has innovated and turned adventure sports into an economic, social, and tourist engine.”

Alegre noted that this year, the Patronat has launched a series of initiatives to celebrate the 40th anniversary of rafting in Pallars Sobirà. These include presentations held in Madrid, Barcelona, and Llavorsí, the release of a commemorative video, and a project with content creators who will undertake rafting descents this summer.
