Alcorisa muestra fair to showcase local craftsmanship on 24 and 25 October

The Alcorisa muestra fair returns, offering local businesses, traders, and associations a platform to display their products from Teruel and highlight their year-round efforts. This year’s event, the seventh since its inception, is scheduled for 24 and 25 October at the municipal pavilion.

The fair will feature a diverse programme that includes tastings, exhibitions, children's activities, and live music. Mayor Miguel Iranzo announced at a press conference that among the exhibitors will be stalls showcasing gastronomy, handicrafts, home accessories, decoration, leisure, and entertainment, reflecting the vibrant activity of the town supported by local shops and producers, as well as numerous associations.

A total of 28 businesses and associations will present their offerings across 36 stands, as some exhibitors occupy more than one space. Joaquín Juste, President of the Teruel Provincial Council, emphasised the fair's dynamism during the programme's presentation, which is supported by the Provincial Council of Teruel, the Government of Aragón, and Caja Rural de Teruel, among other institutions.

The inaugural edition of the fair was held in 2017, and despite a pause during the pandemic, it has continued every two years, alternating with the Fiesta de la Villa.

Event schedule

The official opening of the fair will take place on Saturday at 11:00, followed by a welcoming ceremony featuring giants and large-headed figures. The formal inauguration will occur at noon, led by Carmen Herrarte, the General Director of SMEs, Self-Employed, Internal Trade, and Consumption. Following the opening, there will be a musical performance by Aire Musical de Caspe and a ham tasting session.

At 13:00, a special live broadcast from the fair will be aired by Radio La Comarca. After a break at 14:00, activities will resume at 16:00 with a ceramics workshop hosted by local artisan Trini Espallargas. At 18:00, children can enjoy a storytelling session with Olga Garín at the Anguarina stand.

Further gastronomic offerings include a ham tasting at 19:00, benefiting the Spanish Association Against Cancer, and a chocolate tasting session at 19:30, conducted by Chocolates Artesanos Isabel, which requires prior registration at a cost of 12 euros per person. The fair will conclude for the day at 20:30 with a performance by La Golfería.

On Sunday, the fair will open again at 10:00, with another chance to participate in the ceramics workshop at 11:00. A wine tasting session, paired with local wines from Bodega Dominio Maestrazgo and led by winemaker Joel Azuara, is scheduled for 14:00, with prior registration at the town hall at a fee of 30 euros. The event will also feature a performance by the Alcorisa Rhythmic Gymnastics Group, and the fair will reopen in the afternoon, with another ceramics workshop at 16:00.

Additional activities will include workshops by Espartos Manolito and children's activities at the Anguarina space, where Olga Garín will also be available to sell and sign her first book, “La peor madrastra”.
