Alicante announces €200,000 in subsidies for commerce, hospitality, and markets

The City Council of Alicante has approved subsidies aimed at supporting associations in the commerce and hospitality sectors, with a total budget of €200,000. This initiative is part of the efforts to promote, stimulate, and transform the local commercial landscape.

The Department of Commerce, Hospitality, and Markets emphasizes that these subsidies will provide resources and tools to associations representing local merchants and hospitality businesses. The goal is to enhance their visibility and competitiveness within the city.

These grants will support new projects, initiatives, and activities that promote sustainability, training, innovation, and excellence through direct actions and campaigns. The aim is to strengthen the commercial and hospitality fabric of Alicante, including its markets and local fairs, while encouraging local consumption.

Eligible applicants for the subsidies include associations focused on retail and hospitality activities, as well as associations of vendors in municipal markets and fairs. Federations and confederations with 30 or more local establishments or commercial units can also apply. Each association may submit only one application for the projects and programs outlined in the call for proposals via the electronic headquarters.

The subsidies will facilitate resources through associations to modernize and enhance the local commercial structure, making it increasingly competitive. Key actions promoted include the use of technological tools for self-employed individuals and SMEs, the establishment of new websites, and training and advisory services to support digitalization, e-commerce, and digital marketing efforts.

Additionally, the funds will help promote promotional campaigns, urban commercial animation activities, and gastronomic events that enhance neighborhood identity and stimulate local consumption.

Application Timeline

The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 calendar days from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Bulletin of the Province (BOP) of Alicante. The City Council encourages associations to present innovative projects once the application period opens to improve the sector's competitiveness.

Interested associations can apply through the electronic headquarters of the City Council of Alicante.
