The Junta de Andalucía is actively participating in Routes World, the premier global event dedicated to air connectivity, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany. This week, representatives from the Andalusian government are engaging with international airlines to promote the region's travel potential.
Routes World serves as a platform for decision-makers in the aviation sector, allowing airlines to explore long-term opportunities to expand their presence at airports and destinations worldwide. The Andalusian delegation aims to highlight the region's connectivity through its six airports.
Among the scheduled meetings are discussions with Air Canada, which recently announced a direct flight between Montreal and Seville. Other notable airlines include Emirates and Etihad, both of which have a significant international presence.
Additional meetings are set with British Airways, Wizz Air—recently launching a route to Granada from London-Luton—and new entrant Fly2Galicia, which will operate from Granada-Jaén airport. Other airlines involved include Vueling, Binter, Turkish Airlines, Air Serbia, and American Airlines.
The fair also features a series of round tables, informational meetings, and workshops, focusing on market trends and offering insights from industry experts regarding business strategies and the current state of the aviation sector. EasyJet has also been in contact at the event, celebrating the fifth anniversary of its base in Málaga, from which it currently operates 25 routes and has announced new flights to Southampton, Bordeaux, and Biarritz.
