The Local Government Board of Arnedo has recently approved a series of municipal contracts and initiatives aimed at enhancing local services, upcoming festivities, and cultural programming, particularly for the youth.
Key contracts approved
Among the significant agreements is the approval of a contract for the insurance policy covering the municipal vehicle fleet for 2027, with a budget of €13,000. The process will be open, and both the administrative clauses and technical specifications have been approved. Following the publication of the contract details, interested companies will have 15 days to submit their bids.
Additionally, the council has sanctioned the rental and setup of a marquee for events during the San José and San Cosme and San Damián festivals in 2027, with an estimated cost of €37,510. The early planning for this contract aims to ensure the necessary infrastructure for both celebrations, particularly considering the night-time activities and typical weather conditions during the festivities.
Employment opportunities
The Local Government Board has also approved the provisional list of candidates for two permanent positions as park and garden workers. A total of 22 applicants have been provisionally accepted, with no exclusions. Following the announcement, there will be a ten-day period for candidates to contest the provisional list. The selection committee will meet on 4 November 2026, at 8:00 AM, in the municipal offices, with the first phase of the opposition exam scheduled for 5 November at 9:00 AM in the Casa de Cultura.
Cultural initiatives
In terms of cultural activities, the Local Government Board has approved a minor contract for a workshop focused on the process of adapting a novel into a screenplay. This workshop will be conducted by José Sáenz Jordana, a film enthusiast based in La Rioja Baja who has collaborated with directors such as Javier Fesser. Scheduled for November, the workshop will be free of charge and open to the public, with a particular emphasis on youth participation in Arnedo.
This initiative aligns with the municipal commitment to promote cultural leisure alternatives for young people and enhance their involvement in the city's social life. Further details will be announced soon by the Culture Department.
The workshop complements ongoing efforts by the council to engage with youth through street educators and the Arnedo Enreda group, which has been involved in various social and cultural activities, including the Octubre Corto festival.
Urban development updates
On the urban development front, the Local Government Board acknowledged the responsible declaration for the opening of a cooking activity at the café located at Paseo de la Libertad, number 6, on behalf of Hostelería Arnedana, S.L. A license extension has also been granted for the construction of a single-family home on plot 2208 in sector 15.
