Vallehermoso Stadium was the venue for a family sports day this morning, organised by the Chamberí municipal council. The event saw participation from both children and adults in various athletics activities.
José Fernández, the delegate for Social Policies, Family and Equality, and Jaime González Taboada, the district councillor, attended the event, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and provide a space for families to engage in sports together.
The programme included sack races, relay races, long jump, shot put, obstacle courses, and sprinting events. These activities were complemented by fun sports initiatives such as Zumba and traditional games, allowing participants to explore different disciplines through play and exercise.
This initiative is part of the Madrid City Council's 2024-2029 Plan for Promoting Birth Rates and Work-Life Balance, which aims to encourage family sports activities and recognise the vital role families play in the care, development, education, and social integration of their members.
