The 23rd Chiclana-Sancti Petri race is set to take place on Sunday, 18 October, starting at 10:00 from the Municipal Athletics Stadium. Participants will cover a distance of 11 kilometres, passing through various local landmarks including the bike lane, the Concordia Bridge, and the Plaza de España.
The registration fee is eight euros until 14:00 on Friday, 16 October, increasing to ten euros until 14:00 on Saturday. Interested individuals can register at www.gesconchip.es.
To facilitate the event, buses will be provided for registered participants, departing from Sancti Petri (the finish line) to the Athletics Stadium at 08:30. Additional services will include a cloakroom and hydration stations along the route and at the finish.
Isabel Butrón, the municipal delegate for sports, stated that a traffic management plan will involve local police, civil protection, and sports delegation personnel. She emphasised the aim of minimising disruption in the area, allowing access during the event. Butrón also expressed gratitude to all those involved in the organisation, including local athletics clubs and emergency services, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring the race runs smoothly.
“This event is one of the most beautiful races held in the city, connecting the urban area with the coast, and culminating in one of the town's scenic spots,” Butrón added.
