The 'I National Congress on Health in Performing Arts: Music, Dance and Voice' is being held at the alcorcón campus. The symposium has filled the auditorium of the campus's management building.

This congress adopts a multidisciplinary approach, exploring health-related themes from various fields of health sciences, including medicine, nutrition, nursing, psychology, and physiotherapy. There will be three thematic panels, each focusing on health issues related to dance, music, and voice.

Additionally, the congress will feature an institutional panel with representatives from the Ministry of Culture, the Community of Madrid, and the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain.

Romain Marconnot, a professor in the Physical Education and Sports area at URJC and co-organiser of the congress, stated, “Many of these health issues are silenced, even by the artists themselves. We want to bring this reality to the performing arts community and to as many people as possible. Furthermore, we aim to obtain the institutions' perspectives on the health status of performing arts professionals and the existing shortcomings.”

The congress is particularly aimed at students from the Faculty of Health Sciences across all its areas, healthcare professionals, and students related to the performing arts.

The event will be inaugurated by Jesús María Arsuaga, Vice-Rector for Social Responsibility, Culture and Sport at URJC; Isabel María García, Vice-Rector for Culture, Sport and University Extension at UCM; Miguel Olite, General Director of Artistic Education for the Community of Madrid; and Aurora Araujo, Dean of the Professional College of Physiotherapists of the Community of Madrid.
