The local government of Cornellà has unveiled its summer initiatives, Estiu Jove and Nits Insòmnia, aimed at providing a range of free activities for the youth during the summer months.
These established programmes transform the warmer months into an opportunity for active leisure, culture, and community engagement. Estiu Jove offers a variety of outdoor activities designed to fill the afternoons of July with music, movement, creativity, and camaraderie for young people aged 12 to 21.
From 18:30 to 20:30, different locations across the city will host a range of activities, allowing participants to enjoy time with friends, discover new interests, and make the most of summer without leaving Cornellà. Some highlighted activities include:
- Scooter and skate sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at the Cornellà Skatepark
- Archerytag, a laser tag-style game using bows and arrows, at Camp de les Aigües
- A final water party featuring foam and Holi celebrations at Torre Miranda School
- Arcade workshops every Monday at the Oficina Jove
- Football tournaments on Tuesdays at various cages around Cornellà
Both the football tournament and the arcade workshop require prior registration. On weekends, Nits Insòmnia takes over with a new summer edition running until 25 July, offering nightlife alternatives for young people aged 16 to 35. Additionally, the Escalfa que surts initiative is tailored for those aged 12 to 16, expanding options for different age groups.
Upcoming activities include a Padel tournament, a short film showcase, strategy games, and much more. Through these programmes and the efforts of the Youth Spaces in Sant Ildefons and Riera-Centre, Cornellà reaffirms its commitment to an active, inclusive summer for its youth.
