The Deputación de Lugo has commenced rehabilitation works on the provincial road LU-P-6001, which links the towns of Taboada and Mundín via Ada. This project focuses on the first 6.16 kilometres of the road, stretching from the N-540 to the LU-213, with a total investment of €296,526.23.
This week, the work has concentrated on milling the existing surface and laying a new hot mix asphalt layer, approximately five centimetres thick. The project also involves reopening existing ditches to restore their capacity and facilitate water drainage, as well as cleaning transverse drainage elements.
Additionally, a pedestrian overpass will be constructed, and a retaining wall will be built to stabilise an embankment where cracks in the surface have been detected. Both horizontal and vertical road signage will also be renewed.
The LU-P-6001 spans nearly 14 kilometres, and the current works cover the initial 6.16 kilometres, representing 44% of its main route. This initiative complements previous rehabilitation efforts carried out by the Deputación de Lugo on the subsequent three kilometres, reaching almost the 10-kilometre mark.
This road is crucial for connecting Taboada's urban centre with significant local parishes such as Ada and Mundín, and it links the municipality to the surrounding road network.
