Iñaki de Rodrigo, CEO of Ecopaynet, participated in TIS 2026 as a co-exhibitor with Turistec, where he shared his insights on the evolution of digital payments and omnichannel strategies in the tourism sector. According to Rodrigo, payment methods have transitioned from being merely operational to becoming a crucial element that influences customer experience and business efficiency.
“Collecting payments is also about providing service; payment is part of the experience you sell,”
Rodrigo stated, highlighting that a simple and familiar payment process enhances customer satisfaction. He also noted that integrating payment systems allows companies to gain greater control over their operations.
Rodrigo addressed the challenges faced by tourism businesses in unifying various payment channels and the necessity of eliminating friction during the payment process to boost conversion rates and customer satisfaction. He pointed out that tokenisation and transaction security are other areas where Ecopaynet is focusing to improve user experience.
Concluding his remarks, Rodrigo described his participation in TIS 2026 as highly positive, enabling the identification of collaboration opportunities and strengthening relationships within the tourism sector. He advised companies to analyse their current payment processes to identify areas for improvement.
