Ingenium, an alliance of ten European higher education institutions led by the University of Oviedo, has announced its first annual joint education call for proposals. This initiative aims to encourage collaborative teaching across the alliance, providing a structured approach for faculty to propose joint educational activities.
The call for proposals opened on 14 September and offers two pathways for participation. The first is a rapid track, which closes on 16 October, designed for collaborations that are already well-developed and can be delivered between February and June 2027. A general track will also be available for broader proposals.
As part of the Ingenium Student Partnerships, up to €10,000 will be available for each proposal to help turn student ideas and initiatives into tangible projects. The third edition of this programme has already seen significant interest, with over 118 expressions of interest received in its inaugural year in 2025, resulting in funding for ten projects, including two led by students from the University of Oviedo. In total, more than 20 projects have been funded across the first two editions.
Application process and timeline
The participation process consists of two steps. The first step requires submitting an expression of interest, a brief outline of the proposed idea, which can be submitted until 3 November. The second step is the final application, which includes a comprehensive project proposal and budget, open from 4 November until 1 December at 23:59.
Ingenium is hosting an online information session on 16 October at 13:30 to clarify the call and address any questions. This session will also assist students in finding partners for their projects.
Eligibility and project requirements
To qualify for the Ingenium Student Partnerships, proposals must involve students or student associations from at least three Ingenium universities and align with the alliance's thematic areas, which include inclusion, sustainable development, intercultural dialogue, student entrepreneurship, and healthy campuses.
Activities can range from workshops and training sessions to competitions and community engagement projects, allowing for a variety of formats, including in-person, online, or hybrid events. Projects can be executed at a single university or across multiple institutions.
Evaluation and funding
All applications will be evaluated by panels comprising members from the Ingenium Executive Committee and the Ingenium Student Board. Proposals will be assessed based on relevance, project design quality, and anticipated impact, with results expected to be published by 22 December.
Funding will be managed by the Ingenium offices at the respective universities, ensuring that the allocated budget is used effectively for project execution. Previous recipients of funding are also eligible to apply with new or expanded project ideas, provided they demonstrate significant evolution from prior submissions.
