The delegate for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Marta Rivera de la Cruz, alongside Salamanca councillor Cayetana Hernández de la Riva, attended the unveiling of a plaque in memory of the renowned Spanish singer-songwriter Mari Trini at her childhood home, located at number 126 on Claudio Coello Street.
The ceremony featured performances of several of her songs by the group Belter Souls. During the event, Rivera de la Cruz remarked, “Mari Trini is part of the musical memory of several generations and also of Madrid's cultural history.”
She further emphasised, “This plaque allows us to remember her connection to our city and to honour an artist who made her songs and lyrics a personal and deeply recognisable way of understanding music.” The installation of this plaque on Claudio Coello Street serves to keep alive the memory of one of the most distinctive voices in Spanish music.
