The Policía Autonómica – Cuerpo General de la Policía Canaria (CGPC) has arrested a 25-year-old man in fuerteventura on suspicion of committing a public health offence after discovering over 25 grams of a substance known as tusi or pink cocaine, along with another possible drug and cash.

The intervention occurred during a control operation carried out by agents from the Unidad de Prevención e Intervención (UPRI), in collaboration with the Local Police of Tuineje, coinciding with the san miguel arcángel festivities.

During the operation, officers stopped a taxi carrying four passengers. While conducting checks, one of the police dogs detected something on the sports shoe of one of the occupants. Following this indication, the man handed over a concealed bag containing more than 25 grams of a pink powdery substance, identified as tusi or pink cocaine.

Additionally, the Grupo de Respuesta Operativa seized another drug, possibly ecstasy, along with cash. The estimated value of the seized drugs could reach €2,000. Officers noted signs that the substances were likely intended for distribution in the nightlife area to which the arrested man was heading.

The man has been detained on suspicion of a public health offence and has since been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. These actions are part of the preventive measures undertaken by the Policía Autonómica – Cuerpo General de la Policía Canaria, in coordination with other police bodies, to prevent drug trafficking and illicit consumption, contributing to public safety during festive events.
