Marisa Martínez is set to showcase her exhibition 'Abstracción Fotográfica' in Móstoles, which will be available for viewing from 4 November to 9 January at the Caleidoscopio Cultural Centre. The exhibition features eleven large-format abstract photographs where colour, textures, and strong contrasts take centre stage.
In her works, the human figure frequently appears intertwined with elements that seem to compress, envelop, or liberate it. Each piece is created through the fusion of multiple photographs, employing abstraction as an expressive tool to generate a powerful visual impact and evoke various sensations and interpretations in the viewer.
The images are inspired by the unique interpretations of three works by contemporary Andalusian poets: 'Amores Sucios' by Juan José Téllez, 'Una habitación en la tormenta' by Josela Maturana, and 'La Soledad del Héroe' by Ramón Luque. In a world saturated with images that constantly direct our gaze outward, 'Abstracción Fotográfica' invites viewers to embark on an inward journey.
The exhibition encourages spectators to pause, reflect, and explore the emotions and sensations that the images evoke, offering an experience open to multiple interpretations rather than a literal reflection of reality. Through 'Abstracción Fotográfica', the artist introduces poetic and luminous elements that add a new dimension to the works, allowing for a glimpse of a horizon filled with hope.
Visitors can explore the exhibition at the Caleidoscopio Cultural Centre from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 and 20:30.
