O Ventorrillo pays tribute to Pucho Boedo during its main festival day

On October 10, 2026, Manuel Vázquez, the Sports Councillor, presided over a tribute to Pucho Boedo organized by the Ventorrillo neighborhood association as part of the local festivities that began the previous day. The event took place next to the statue honoring one of the great voices of Galician song and orchestral music.

“Pucho Boedo was, and continues to be, an illustrious neighbor of Ventorrillo who, thanks to his prodigious voice, brought the name of his neighborhood and our city across the Atlantic and throughout Europe,” said the councillor about the famous singer, marking the 40th anniversary of his passing in 2026.

He also emphasized that Pucho Boedo was “a unique singer with his own identity, and that is why on days like today, in Ventorrillo and A Silva, we celebrate this day as one of the highlights of the neighborhood's festivities and, of course, of the city, because Pucho, who rests in the San Amaro cemetery, was above all a reference for the neighborhoods of A Coruña, the true A Coruña.”

Following the traditional tribute, a dance party featuring the orchestra Los Satélites, with whom Pucho Boedo performed for much of his career, took place in Ventorrillo. In recent years, the City Council has organized various tributes to Boedo, including a special performance by Los Satélites in María Pita Square and the creation of a mural in Ventorrillo.
