The explanada del cohetódromo will be the venue for a celebration featuring a giant wood-fired paella, dancing, horchata, and fartons, under the theme “Everything we are carries something of you.”
The event, organised by the Ayuntamiento de Paterna, aims to recognise the contributions of older residents to the community. Isabel Segura, Deputy Mayor, emphasised that “this celebration is a way to thank them for taking care of us, for building the Paterna we enjoy today, and for continuing to contribute so much to our families and city.”
Segura added, “We want our seniors to enjoy a day of sharing, reconnecting with friends, and feeling like the protagonists, as their well-being and participation are essential for Paterna.”
This initiative is part of the Ayuntamiento de Paterna's efforts to promote social bonds, foster active and healthy ageing, and create spaces that encourage older citizens to participate in community life, helping to prevent unwanted loneliness.
Tickets for the event can be collected at the Oficina de Personas Mayores de Paterna, located on Médico Ballester street, from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Each person can collect a maximum of four tickets, provided they present a photocopy of each attendee's ID. The activity is aimed at residents aged 60 and over who are registered in Paterna.
