The Torrevieja Town Hall, through its Parks and Gardens Department led by Concha Sala, has undertaken a special floral decoration project in the Plaza de la Constitución in honour of the upcoming celebrations on 9 October, the Day of the Comunitat Valenciana, and 12 October, Spain's National Day.
The main feature of this initiative is the planting of kalanchoes in the four flowerbeds of the square, designed specifically for these commemorations. Two of the flowerbeds represent the colours of the flag of the Comunitat Valenciana, while the other two reflect the colours of the Spanish flag. This floral composition enhances the festive atmosphere of one of Torrevieja's most iconic spaces.
The Plaza de la Constitución serves as a regular meeting point for both residents and visitors, hosting many events organised for these significant dates. The floral arrangements have also been extended to the planters at the entrance of the Archpriest Church of the Immaculate Conception, located within the square. Here, kalanchoes have been planted to maintain continuity with the flowerbeds and enhance the overall environment.
In addition to the new plantings, the Parks and Gardens service has carried out pruning, trimming, cleaning, and maintenance of the vegetation, alongside essential care for the flowerbeds and green areas of the plaza. This initiative complements the ongoing maintenance efforts by the department, combining routine conservation tasks with special decorations for the Day of the Comunitat Valenciana and Spain's National Day.
