Ponteareas launches fourth edition of ‘Pinchotea’ with 12 participating establishments

The Concello de Ponteareas has officially announced the fourth edition of ‘Pinchotea’, a well-established tapas route that promises to enliven the municipality with flavour. This year, 12 hospitality establishments will participate in the initiative, which runs from 22 October to 8 November.

The gastronomic event aims to serve as a significant economic driver for local hospitality, showcasing the quality and creativity of Ponteareas' culinary scene at accessible prices. Each pincho, or small dish, will be capped at a maximum price of 3 euros, making it easier for both locals and visitors to enjoy the full route.

To facilitate the experience, fixed hours have been established for the public to sample the various culinary creations. Participating venues will offer their tapas on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 19:30 to 23:30, while on Sundays, the route will shift to a daytime session from 11:30 to 14:30.

Ricardo González, the councillor for Commerce, emphasised that “Pinchotea has become an essential date in the Ponteareas calendar. It is a true economic engine for our hospitality sector during a traditionally low season.” He noted that each edition reveals an evolution beyond traditional tapas, featuring elaborate dishes made with quality ingredients, establishing Ponteareas as a gastronomic reference in the region.

Mayor Nava Castro highlighted the municipal government's commitment to creating “a vibrant Ponteareas, with real opportunities and policies that translate into direct benefits for our residents and the business community.” She described gastronomic events like this as key tools that not only showcase culinary creativity but are also fundamental in boosting local commerce and fostering community around gastronomy, attracting stable visitor flows outside the high season.

As is customary in this event, citizen participation will play a crucial role. Each pincho will have a unique QR code, allowing users to access a mobile application where they can cast votes, find the exact locations of participating businesses, explore culinary proposals, and upload photos of the dishes they enjoy. For those less familiar with technology, a physical card can be used; by collecting stamps from four consumed pinchos, participants will gain direct entry into the final prize draw.

In either case, a minimum of four consumptions will qualify participants for the final prize draw, with the added novelty this year of direct prizes being awarded throughout the campaign. Prizes will be provided by participating venues, collaborating businesses, and the Concello de Ponteareas itself.

The organisers encourage everyone in the region to visit Ponteareas to experience the talent of local hospitality professionals and take part in this grand celebration of gastronomy. Detailed information about participating establishments and their offerings will soon be available through official channels and the Concello de Ponteareas website.
