Santander begins comprehensive renovation of La Teja children's park

The city council of Santander has commenced a comprehensive renovation of La Teja children's park, aimed at modernising and improving one of the municipality's key play and community spaces. This initiative will reinforce safety, accessibility, and the quality of facilities designed for children.

The project includes the renewal of play areas through the installation of new equipment, specifically designed to promote psychomotor development, physical activity, and social interaction among children. Additionally, existing infrastructure will be upgraded, and the overall environment will be improved to ensure optimal conditions for families to enjoy the park.

Key planned actions include the construction of new concrete bases for the installation of play equipment, the introduction of state-of-the-art recreational facilities, and the installation of continuous safety flooring designed to absorb impacts, tailored to the specific needs of each play element and compliant with technical requirements for such installations.

This intervention will revitalise a space of significant importance to local residents, incorporating modern solutions that enhance both user safety and the durability and functionality of the children's area. The work will be carried out to ensure compliance with European standards UNE-EN 1176 and UNE-EN 1177, which pertain to safety requirements for children's play areas and impact-absorbing surfaces, respectively. This approach aims to align the facilities with current technical standards and increase protection guarantees for users.
