Torrejón de Ardoz to host 14th solidarity race for Manos Unidas on 25 October

Torrejón de Ardoz will once again host the annual solidarity race in support of Manos Unidas, marking its 14th edition this year. Scheduled for Sunday, 25 October, the event will include a family-friendly 1-kilometre run and, for the first time, a 10-kilometre urban race through the city's streets.

Registrations for the race will remain open until 23 October. This year's event is backed by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which is celebrating its 45th anniversary as part of a collaboration aimed at promoting sports and healthy lifestyles among the population.

The presentation of the event took place at the Hostal Torrejón, attended by the mayor of Torrejón de Ardoz and president of the FEMP Sports Commission, Alejandro Navarro, along with the Councillor for Sports and Tourism, Miriam Gutiérrez, Father Víctor, the FEMP Communication Director, Álvaro Mateos, and Manuel Parga, the COE Marketing Director.

The family race will commence at 09:30, with registration available through a voluntary donation. The 10-kilometre race will require a chip for timing, and the registration fee is set at €13.50, which includes a commemorative technical t-shirt and a runner's bag. For those unable to attend but wishing to contribute, a 'Fila 0' option will be available for donations.

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category for the 10K race, which is open to athletes aged 16 and above, divided into junior-promising, senior, absolute, and veterans A, B, C, and D categories.
