The Tourism Board of the Lleida Provincial Council has promoted olive oil tourism experiences in the Terres de Lleida with the visit of six food influencers. This initiative took place on Saturday at various locations in the Garrigues and Urgell regions, and the activities enjoyed by the content creators are part of the project 'Olive Oil Tourism of Lleida. The taste of the land.'
Juli Alegre, the director of the Tourism Board, explained that the event coincided with the start of the olive harvest and the first oil productions at the mills, some of which are associated with the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) Les Garrigues. Alegre also noted that “the vast majority of the experiences offered in the project are available throughout the year.”
The six influencers who visited the Terres de Lleida include @familyplanes, @bloghedonista, @divinossabores, @lichifoodies, @cuinateca, and @retallsdecuina. Participants enjoyed activities such as tastings of extra virgin olive oil, guided tours of the mills, storytelling among the olive trees, and tastings of cuisine from restaurants that hold the Virgen Extra distinction and will participate in this year's Gastronomic Showcase of the Garrigues.
Additionally, the 'Olive Oil Tourism of Lleida. The taste of the land' project has expanded this year to include 56 experiences, ten more than last year. These tourism proposals are offered by a total of 34 companies and entities from the Garrigues, Urgell, Segrià, and Noguera regions. New additions this year include Anècdota Rural, the cooperative from Vallbona de les Monges, the Carretera de l’Oli, and Fruiturisme.
