The exhibition '100 years of fencing 1925-2025', organised by the Fencing Federation of the Valencian Community, is currently on display at the Torre del Reloj in València. This historical showcase, which runs until 14 October, highlights the evolution of fencing in the city.
Under the theme 'The legacy of a tradition', the Torre del Reloj features various artefacts that illustrate the historical development of the sport. Items on display include antique weapons, books, and historical materials. The section titled 'The art of the sword' presents historical pieces such as swords, foils, sabres, and training equipment, tracing fencing's journey from combat to its status as an Olympic sport. Visitors can also view a selection of literature on fencing, including treatises, manuals, and regulations.
Additionally, the exhibition showcases technological advancements in fencing, featuring electrical devices, cables, and scoring systems.
