The city of València will host the XX International Symposium on Fireworks from 11 to 16 October, bringing together around 400 professionals from the pyrotechnics industry. The event will feature a programme that includes pyrotechnic displays and smoke effects.
Organised with the support of the Asociación Española de la Pirotecnia (AEPIRO), the activities will take place in several locations, including the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the area around the Meliá Valencia hotel, Calle Eugenia Viñas, Avenida de Neptuno, and the Alameda. The programme is subject to change.
The inauguration will occur on Sunday, 11 October, at 20:30 in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, featuring a display by Pirotecnia Zaragozana, monotiros from Focs d’Artifici Europlà, and sponsorship from FireOne.
On 12 October, the Meliá Valencia hotel will host a despertà at 08:00, organised by the Federación de las Fallas del Centro and sponsored by Pirotecnia del Alto Palancia (Piroalpa). A correfoc, or fire run, will take place at 19:45, featuring the Ball de Diables de Torredembarra and the Colla de Dimonis de Mislata, with participation from the pyrotechnic companies García, Rausell, and El Gato. A pyrotechnic show by Platón is scheduled for 20:30 at the end of the correfoc route.
Activities on 14 October will shift to Calle Eugenia Viñas and Avenida de Neptuno, starting with a smoke effects display by Focs d’Artifici Europlà, David Bordes, and Dream Fireworks at 19:15. At 20:00, AEPIRO will present “The Alphabet of Pyrotechnics,” followed by two fireworks displays by Pirotecnia Martí at 20:25 and Pirotecnia Vulcano at 20:50.
On 15 October, Focs d’Artifici Europlà, David Bordes, and Dream Fireworks will present a fireworks show at 20:00, followed by Pirotecnia Parente at 20:25. A drone show by Aero Verge is scheduled for 20:50, and a fireworks display by Pirotecnia San Pio will conclude the evening at 21:15.
The closing event is set for 16 October at 22:30 in the Alameda, in front of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, featuring a fireworks show by Pirotecnia Igual.
This symposium is organised by the International Symposium on Fireworks Society Ltd, a non-profit organisation based in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, USA, which rotates the venue for each edition. This year, València is hosting the event with the collaboration of the local government, which approved a grant of €100,000 for AEPIRO during the recent Junta de Gobierno meeting.
