On October 9, 2026, the city council of Vigo and Máis que Auga, through the Club Pádel Barreiro, officially launched the Liga Concello de Vigo de Pádel. This competition will take place from October 17 of this year until June 20, 2027.
The mayor of Vigo expressed his best wishes to the organizers for the success of the league. Francisco Cortegoso, the director of Máis que Auga, stated, "We want to bring the competition to the city throughout the year, culminating in a summer tournament." He also mentioned that prizes worth €10,000 will be awarded, including six-month memberships to the pádel academy and direct qualifications for the Torneo Concello de Vigo, among other incentives.
The organizers anticipate that more than 200 pairs will register for the league. Cortegoso noted, "With seventeen courts and a school accommodating 800 people, both children and adults, we now have a greater capacity to host many more players, from beginners to regular participants."
