The Xunta de Galicia has opened the application period for financial aid aimed at energy efficiency projects in accommodation and catering establishments. This funding is intended to support initiatives developed in 2026 and 2027.
During a visit to the Hotel Las Sirenas in Viveiro, which benefited from similar support last year, the territorial delegate Alfonso Villares announced the programme. The new order allocates a total investment of €9 million, with €900,000 available for 2026 and €8.1 million for 2027.
Eligible initiatives must be comprehensive, combining at least two energy efficiency measures with one or more investments in renewable energy. Funded actions include improving building envelopes, upgrading lighting to more energy-efficient systems, and implementing thermal solar installations, geothermal energy, biomass, aerothermal or hydrothermal systems, as well as photovoltaic systems for self-consumption.
Projects must achieve a minimum 30% reduction in primary energy consumption from non-renewable sources. The application period is open until 7 December, with requests processed in the order they are received until the available budget is exhausted. Eligible expenses must be incurred and paid between 1 January 2026 and 2 November 2027.
