On October 5, 2026, Manuel Pardo, the delegate of the Xunta in Ourense, along with Cecilio Santalices, head of the Tourism department, and Rebeca Sotelo, the mayor, presented the 20th edition of the Otoño Gastronómico campaign at Garandela Turismo Rural in Cenlle. This initiative aims to promote the region's unique gastronomy alongside pleasant stays in rural tourism accommodations, offering attractive pricing and options.
Pardo explained that this year, 14 establishments in Ourense are participating in the campaign, which runs from September 18 to December 20. The initiative seeks to stimulate rural tourism, combat seasonality, and support the rural tourism sector.
Various packages are available, including:
- Gastronomic Autumn Menu - without accommodation
- Gastronomic Autumn Package - for one-night stays
- Gastronomic Autumn Weekend - for two-night stays
- Autumn Plus - includes activities such as horseback riding, surfing, hiking, or winery visits
This campaign, created in 2007 in collaboration with the network of Rural Tourism establishments in Galicia, aligns with the Xunta's Tourism Strategy 2030, focusing on reducing seasonality and promoting territorial redistribution. Pardo noted that over 110,000 people have participated in previous editions, generating more than 7.3 million euros for the rural tourism sector in Galicia.
During the presentation, Pardo highlighted that Turismo de Galicia has launched a comprehensive visibility campaign across various media platforms. From September 7 to October 7, advertising actions are being conducted on urban and metropolitan buses in Ourense, with five buses participating. The promotional strategy also includes social media outreach and coverage in audiovisual media across Galicia, northern Spain, northern Portugal, and Catalonia.
Additionally, the campaign is supported by ten content creators who will publish on their social media during the first two weekends of the campaign (September 18-20 and September 25-27). A dedicated section on the Turismo de Galicia website has been operational since September 7, providing all relevant information and downloadable guides.
To further support the campaign's dissemination, Turismo de Galicia has printed 8,400 informational guides and 500 posters, distributed among participating establishments, approximately 90 Tourism offices in Galicia, the Tourism Office in Madrid (Casa de Galicia), and the four Provincial Tourism Areas of the Xunta.
The participating establishments this year include Vila Centellas and La Rectoral de San Eusebio in Coles, Reitoral de Chandrexa in Parada de Sil, Eido das Estrelas in A Veiga, Casa Ramirás in Ramirás, Casa Rural Vilaboa in Allariz, Rectoral de Ansemil in Celanova, Casa Sabariz, Rectoral de Candás, Aldea Rural Santo André in Rairiz de Veiga, Casa a Rousía in Baltar, O Retiro do Conde in Monterrei, and Casa da Feira in Lobios.
