On October 8, 2026, Lara Meneses, the General Director of Xuventude, participated in the presentation of the winning short novel of the Xuventude Crea 2025 competition, titled Nós, os tolos, by Tania Castelo. The book, which received funding from the Xunta, is published by the Xerais publishing house.
During the book presentation at the Cidade da Cultura, Meneses described the work as an example of the "emerging literary quality present in Galicia" and emphasized the importance of competitions like Xuventude Crea in promoting and disseminating such works. She congratulated the author for being "representative of the talent that the Galician youth possesses" and expressed gratitude towards Xerais for their involvement in the competition, highlighting their "commitment to the young people of the Galician cultural industry."
Nós, os tolos, by Tania Castelo, who hails from the municipality of Mazaricos in A Coruña, was the first winner of last year's edition of Xuventude Crea. The novel offers a collective portrait of mental health, told through the eyes of Marta, an occupational therapist who, along with her team, witnesses the stories behind each name.
