Castilla-La Mancha strengthens ties with South Korea to attract investment and development opportunities

Madrid, 5 October 2026 - The Vice President of Castilla-La Mancha, José Manuel Caballero, attended a reception organized by the South Korean Ambassador, Soosuk Lim, in celebration of National Foundation Day. During the event, Caballero emphasized the significance of the cultural, commercial, and political ties that the regional government maintains with South Korea.

Caballero stated, "We wanted to accompany the Ambassador of South Korea today because the cultural, commercial, and political links we have with this country are important." He added that this occasion serves as a reminder that trade and political relations between countries—and, in this case, regions—are strengthened through greater knowledge, cultural exchange, and business activities.

He highlighted that Castilla-La Mancha has significant commercial interests with South Korea, particularly in the agri-food sector. Earlier this year, Caballero traveled with President Emiliano García-Page to reinforce these ties. "We want to continue building bridges and making an important economic contribution to our farmers, winemakers, and, ultimately, to all those commercial relationships that also strengthen friendships and allow us to maintain the development of our towns through exchange and foreign relations," he noted.

The reception also saw the participation of Valdepeñas Mayor, Jesús Martín, whose town hosted the Ambassador during its recent Wine and Harvest Festival and is actively working to attract investment and development opportunities.
