Albacete — On October 2, 2026, city councilors for Festivities and Education, Elena Serrallé and Pascual Molina, participated in the opening ceremony of the Franciscanos neighborhood festival, held at the Ensanche Sociocultural Center. The event featured a speech by actress Charo Romero.
The councilors congratulated Romero and the event's host, journalist Domingo Martínez, while expressing gratitude to the local Neighborhood Association, led by Adela Casamayor. They highlighted the association's year-round efforts to enhance the quality of life in the neighborhood and their commitment to providing diverse programming during the festival for all ages.
Serrallé and Molina reaffirmed the city council's dedication to collaborating with the residents of Franciscanos, described as one of the city's most beloved and populous neighborhoods. They also noted that the neighborhood will benefit from new opportunities through the Special Regeneration Plan for the Ensanche, which includes European funding and a significant municipal contribution, totaling over 14 million euros.
