The fourth edition of Escena en rede, a showcase of performing arts, is set to take place from 27 to 29 October at Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura in Gijón. Organised by the Consejería de Cultura, Política Llingüística y Deporte in collaboration with EscenAsturias, the event will bring together more than 230 professionals dedicated to the performing arts.
Throughout the three-day event, attendees can expect 12 performances, three roundtable discussions, and two commercial meetings aimed at energising the cultural sector and facilitating communication, cooperation, and exchange among artists, programmers, and institutions in the region.
Event schedule and performances
Eleven Asturian companies, along with an invited company from Castilla y León, Popy Vegas Teatro, will showcase their works across various spaces within Laboral. The schedule includes:

- Guayominí Producciones - Drácula de Bram Stoker at Teatro Alejandro Casona of ESAD

- Norbayu Teatro at Teatro Matadero
- El Callejón del Gato - Dido y Eneas in Sala de Pinturas

All performances are free of charge until full capacity is reached, with priority given to registered professional attendees of Escena en rede.
Roundtable discussions
In addition to the performances, three roundtable discussions will address various topics related to the performing arts:
- 27 October: A discussion on artistic residencies, moderated by Jimena Rodríguez, featuring experts from various cultural organisations.
- 28 October: A focus on the state and challenges of performing arts distribution, moderated by Paz Álvarez.
- 29 October: A roundtable on building networks and establishing cross-border alliances, moderated by Nerea Soto.
Escena en rede also included two prior training sessions on regional funding for the performing arts and tools for connecting projects with audiences in the digital environment. Detailed schedules and information about the programming can be found on the event's website.
