The Estepona Town Hall has announced that artists Concha Manzano and María Ochoa will present their art exhibition titled 'El Arte de Estepona... Respira' starting on 22 October at the Casa de Las Tejerinas. This exhibition is the result of one of their projects and comprises nearly thirty digital images, primarily showcasing iconic elements and historical monuments of Estepona.
Described as “an artistic project to pause, observe, and breathe,” the exhibition features a series of drawings and graphic designs that form a coherent ensemble. It engages with themes such as identity, landscape, history, and contemporary projection, aligning with Estepona's cultural and visual character as a city open to art. Each piece emerges from a process of observation and reinterpretation, balancing the figurative and the abstract.
The exhibition will be accessible until 4 November, open Tuesday to Friday from 09:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, with free entry. A portion of the proceeds will support the Estepona Cancer Association.
Concha Manzano and María Ochoa are two friends united by their passion for art, literature, and technology. Manzano, originally from Huelva, now resides in Estepona, while Ochoa lives in Ghent, Belgium. Manzano is a graphic writer and visual storyteller who merges words with imagery, whereas Ochoa is a visual artist specialising in colour, graphic drawing, and contemporary composition. Together, they founded 'De la Orden, Art Studio' to transform their creativity into sustainable projects that promote culture and generate social and economic impact.
Their works blend contemporary artistic language with historical, cultural, and emotional references. Their careers encompass art, writing, visual research, and exhibition design, with series designed to be experienced as a cohesive whole rather than as isolated pieces.
