The II Feria del Coleccionismo is set to take place this weekend at the Institución Ferial de Mérida (IFEME), a well-established event that positions the city as a national and international hub for collectors, merchants, and enthusiasts.

Last year, the fair attracted over 20,000 visitors, and this year it has expanded to include nearly 200 exhibitors across three pavilions dedicated to showcasing and selling collectibles.

Laura Iglesias, the delegate of IFEME, emphasized the commitment of the local government to maintain an active programming schedule at the fairgrounds throughout the year, highlighting both the economic impact and the intergenerational appeal of the event. She noted, "the fair will occupy the entire exhibition space this year and will bring together participants from all over Spain, including the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, as well as neighboring countries such as Portugal, France, Andorra, Belgium, and the United Kingdom."

Juan Carlos Ojeda, responsible for the event, pointed out that the fair provides a significant boost to the local economy, as many exhibitors and visitors extend their stay in the city, taking advantage of the local hospitality, commerce, and hotel offerings.

The fair features a diverse range of items, from classic collectibles like coins, stamps, and banknotes to popular trends among younger audiences, including Pokémon cards, Funko figures, comics, and manga.

One of the main attractions will be the display of the FIFA World Cup trophy, won by the Spanish national team, allowing visitors the opportunity to take photos with the trophy.

Ojeda remarked, "Investing in an event like this is investing in tourism and, above all, in culture, specifically the culture of collecting."

The II Feria Internacional de Coleccionismo will open on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM to 9 PM, and on Sunday, October 11, from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. IFEME offers dining and café services, as well as ample free parking to facilitate access for visitors from outside the city.
