From October 2 to November 27, Fuenlabrada will host the second edition of the ‘Circo Abierto’ festival. This event showcases contemporary circus performances, emerging creations, and interdisciplinary proposals.

A key highlight this year is ‘La Mirada Joven de Circo Abierto’, a program designed for young individuals aged 18 to 26 to actively participate in the festival. Participants will have free access to shows, opportunities to meet the performing companies, and engage in parallel activities. Additionally, they will receive a participation diploma.

The festival will kick off on October 2 at 7:30 PM with the presentation of the ‘Circo Abierto’ cycle at the Josep Carreras Theatre, followed by the performance of ‘Mute… y a volar!’ by the Orain Bi company.

The programming will continue until November 27 and includes performances such as ‘¡Wooow!’ by Nando Caneca, ‘Empaque’ by Chicharrón Circo, ‘Ahora’ by Maite Guevara, ‘Munchaussen’ by Asaco Producciones, ‘Tenet’ by Eunoia Kolektiva, and ‘Gota’ by Txema Muñoz, among others.

Activities related to the creative processes and meetings with artists will also be part of the cycle. Furthermore, the fifth edition of the international clown meeting ‘Ácidas’ will be celebrated within the festival's programming.

Cristina Mora, the Councilor for Culture, stated that “Fuenlabrada is becoming a national reference for circus in venues, with a selection of shows aimed at bringing the public closer to the diversity of languages and possibilities of contemporary circus. This new edition expands cultural participation opportunities, particularly for younger generations.”

The complete program, including detailed information about each performance and access to the ‘La Mirada Joven de Circo Abierto’ initiative, is available online.
