The Palacio de la Isla is currently hosting the exhibition ‘Vestir el alma’ by artist Zaafira Gil, which celebrates the 180th anniversary of the Cáceres Bullring. This exhibition, organized by Lances de Futuro in collaboration with the Cáceres City Council and Canal de Isabel II, will be open to the public until October 5, with free admission during normal opening hours.
Under the title ‘Vestir el alma’, Zaafira Gil offers a unique perspective on the world of bullfighting through her paintings, merging art, tradition, and emotion. Soledad Carrasco, the city’s Councillor for Festivities, emphasized the significance of this initiative within the cultural programming designed for such an important anniversary in the city’s history.
“The Cáceres City Council aims to support initiatives that enhance the cultural offerings of the city, allowing us to engage with the history of our Bullring through an artistic lens,” Carrasco stated.
She further noted that “the 180th anniversary of the Bullring presents an opportunity to highlight the history and heritage of this venue and to develop activities that bring this celebration closer to diverse audiences.”
“Zaafira Gil’s exhibition provides that cultural and artistic perspective, and we encourage both locals and visitors to come to the Palacio de la Isla to experience it,” she added.
