Ciudad Real, October 8, 2026 - The Government of Castilla-La Mancha and the Provincial Association of Hospitality and Tourism of Ciudad Real will conduct a gastronomic and heritage experience on Sunday, October 11, that combines culture and cuisine to promote the culinary traditions of the region.

This initiative marks the launch of the Culinaria Castilla-La Mancha Congress, which will take place in Cuenca and will for the first time cover all five provincial capitals, focusing on gastronomy and heritage.

The experience is designed for 300 participants, divided into five groups, each purchasing a single ticket for 15 euros to sample six tapas at various heritage sites in the city. The event will feature tapas from regional restaurants, local products from different provinces, and guided tours, concluding at the Templete de los Jardines del Prado with a tasting of five desserts.

During the announcement of the initiative, Miguel Díaz Brazales, the provincial delegate for Economy, Business, and Employment in Ciudad Real, emphasized that the activity aims to “captivate” Ciudad Real and the entire province. He stated, “The best way to defend our tourism is to work alongside the professionals who contribute daily and are the main actors in the sector, alongside our heritage spaces and cultural resources.”

Díaz Brazales also highlighted the efforts of both the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and the Hospitality Association to enhance tourism, noting, “It is a struggle of many Quijotes in this land,” and expressed gratitude for the work of professionals who support their communities through cuisine.

The culinary offerings will include a dish from the restaurant ‘La Zaranda,’ led by chef Andrés Rodríguez, an international award winner for game tapas. The dish will feature partridge paired with a wine from Pago del Vicario.

Juan Daniel Rubia, president of the Provincial Association of Hospitality and Tourism of Ciudad Real, praised the initiative, stating that it will allow locals to enjoy gourmet food from their region in significant tourist and monumental spaces. He explained that participants will not only experience the gastronomy of various restaurants in the autonomous community but will also significantly boost tourism through this new experience that combines gastronomy, culture, and tourism.

Rubia reiterated that Castilla-La Mancha strongly supports personal experiences, moving away from large nightclubs and hotels, and described this initiative as a clear example of that unity.

With a single ticket priced at 15 euros, participants can enjoy the entire gastronomic experience and visit all participating venues. They will only need to choose their starting point and purchase the corresponding ticket.
