Torrejón de Ardoz is set to host two significant combat sports events this weekend, the Madrid Open of ADCC Spain and the DMC Experience, both of which aim to promote sports while supporting a charitable cause.
The Madrid Open of ADCC Spain will take place on Saturday, October 10, at the Jorge Garbajosa Pavilion from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with free entry. This event is expected to attract over 1,000 athletes from various clubs, academies, and specialized schools across Spain. ADCC, or Abu Dhabi Combat Club, is a no-gi combat discipline that features Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling, judo, and mixed martial arts (MMA). The rules prohibit striking, focusing instead on grappling, takedowns, and submission holds.
On Sunday, October 11, the DMC Experience will be held at the José Antonio Paraíso Pavilion from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Organized by local athlete Ana Gervás, a champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, this event combines a day of fighting with music and food, all aimed at raising funds for the Asociación Diverses. This organization works towards the real inclusion, accessibility, and rights advocacy for individuals with functional diversity and/or neurodiversities. Entry to the DMC Experience will cost 15 euros.
The event will feature two open masterclasses suitable for all skill levels: one led by MMA fighter Héctor Meco and another by Ezequiel Delgado, a European champion in no-gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Following the training sessions, attendees can enjoy live music from the band Ático 11 and food from various food trucks.
