The Government of Asturias has announced an expansion of the free shuttle service connecting the town of Ribeseya (also known as Ribadesella) with the beach area, effective from Monday. This initiative aims to improve accessibility for residents during the ongoing construction of a new bridge over the estuary.
The enhanced route will begin in the town centre, in front of the local market, and will include stops at the bus station, Lloviu brickworks, Bones, and San Esteban de Leces. In the beach area, the shuttle will stop at the Alimerka roundabout (Avenida de los Porqueros), the Monte Somos urbanisation, and Plaza Miguel Ángel before reaching El Picu.
Service details and frequency
The shuttle service will operate from 6:15 am to 9:15 pm on weekdays, with departures from El Picu, and from 7:15 am to 9:45 pm for trips starting from Ribeseya. On weekends, the service will run from 8:45 am to 9:45 pm from El Picu, and from 9:15 am to 10:15 pm for returns to the town.
Managed by the Transport Consortium of Asturias (CTA), the service will provide 28 round trips on weekdays and 25 on weekends and holidays. The CTA will monitor the service's performance to assess any necessary adjustments.
