The Bonos Consumo Domingo campaign, launched by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council and FAUCA, is set to conclude this weekend following three rounds of participation. In the most recent round, 38 local businesses took part, successfully redeeming 99.83% of the vouchers issued.
José Manuel Bermúdez, the mayor of Santa Cruz, has encouraged residents to take advantage of the final week, with 1,232 Bonos Consumo Domingo available for purchase starting this Friday at 10:00 am. These vouchers can be acquired until 12:00 pm on Sunday or until stocks last. The mayor emphasised that vouchers can only be redeemed on the date specified on the voucher at participating establishments, which is this Sunday.
Regarding the previous week’s vouchers, the mayor noted that 38 commercial establishments in the capital participated, with nearly 30,000 euros injected into the local economy through the 99.83% redemption rate of the Bonos Consumo Domingo.
Carmen Pérez, the first deputy mayor and executive councillor of the Development Society, explained that the Bonos Consumo Domingo allow residents to make purchases worth 25 euros while only paying 12.50 euros, representing a 50% saving. She added that detailed information about the campaign and participating businesses can be found on the website www.bonoconsumosantacruz.com.
Pérez highlighted that sectors with the highest redemption rates included children's fashion, footwear, and perfumery, with businesses such as Lily Joyas, Mercería Adelka, Perfumerías Dalia, ByFrarosi, and Maminar Calzado Barefoot reaching the 1,500 euro redemption cap. Notably, 97.4% of the participating establishments redeemed at least one Bonos Consumo.
Additionally, Pérez pointed out that the general Bonos Consumo campaign is nearing its end, set to conclude on 2 November. She urged residents to make the most of the remaining weeks to shop at local businesses, noting that 91% of the total value of the sold vouchers has already been redeemed, equating to an economic boost of 364,002.30 euros for the city's business sector.
As in previous editions, the billing limit for each establishment is updated on the website, ensuring transparency for both consumers and businesses. This site provides useful information, including descriptions of the shops, contact numbers, and locations, allowing residents to access a comprehensive list of participating establishments at any time. Consumers will be required to present their ID when redeeming vouchers, and they will receive an email after each purchase detailing their remaining balance.
The Bonos Consumo Domingo initiative is aimed exclusively at retail establishments located in the Tourist High Traffic Zone (ZGAT) that meet the established criteria.
