On October 9, 2026, the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha published the call for proposals for the XXVI Fair of Performing Arts and Music in the region. Carmen Teresa Olmedo, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports, announced that the event will be held from April 5 to 8, 2027, with Albacete as its main venue.
The submission period for applications will run from October 13 to 26, during which companies from Castilla-La Mancha can submit a maximum of two performances, while companies from outside the region can submit one performance at most.
Last year, the Fair featured 21 performances, six of which were from local companies. Olmedo emphasized the significance of the Fair as a key meeting point for companies, programming professionals, and cultural agents, highlighting its role as a showcase for the creative talent of the region.
She stated, “This fair represents an opportunity to experience the diversity, quality, and richness of the performing and musical proposals developed both within and outside Castilla-La Mancha, promoting the exchange of experiences, the creation of professional networks, and the opening of new opportunities for companies and artists.”
Additionally, Olmedo stressed the importance of bringing performing arts and music to all audiences, particularly those living in rural areas, asserting that “culture should be a space for meeting, participation, and coexistence, regardless of where we live.”
She also pointed out that “behind each performance are professionals, creativity, effort, and a significant cultural fabric that deserves to be known and recognized,” noting that events like this allow for reflection on the sector's challenges, sharing new proposals, and continuing to work towards making culture accessible to all corners of Castilla-La Mancha.
