Cambrils has established itself as one of the most economically productive tourist destinations in Catalonia, outperforming popular locations such as Sitges, Salou, and Benidorm in hotel profitability for 2025.

Cambrils emerges as a leading tourist destination in catalonia

Cambrils has solidified its position as one of the most competitive tourist destinations in Catalonia, according to the latest data from the Barometer of Profitability of Spanish Tourist Destinations, prepared by EXCELTUR using official statistics from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The report reveals that in 2025, Cambrils achieved an average revenue per available room (RevPAR) of €115.90, marking a 13.6% increase from the previous year. This figure places Cambrils ahead of other well-known tourist spots, including Sitges (€110.40), Vila-seca/La Pineda (€102), Benidorm (€84), Salou (€80.30), and Lloret de Mar (€71.50).

Notably, Cambrils' RevPAR surpasses that of Salou, a destination renowned for its accommodation capacity, by 44.3%. Additionally, it is 5% higher than Sitges, a location traditionally associated with high-quality tourism and significant international appeal.

A focus on quality tourism

Oliver Klein, the Mayor of Cambrils, expressed his satisfaction with these results, stating, "The data confirms that Cambrils is moving in the right direction. Our goal is not to compete solely on visitor numbers but to establish a quality tourism model that generates economic activity, employment, and opportunities for local businesses and professionals."

Klein also highlighted the importance of maintaining a tourism identity centred on quality of life, gastronomy, family and sports tourism, and respect for the environment.

Continued positive trends in 2026

Initial data for 2026 indicates a continuation of this positive trend. From January to April, coinciding with Holy Week, Cambrils recorded a RevPAR of €80, reflecting a remarkable 51.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This early data suggests optimistic prospects for the sector ahead of the summer season.

During this same period, Cambrils outperformed Sitges (€65.10), Salou (€49.20), and Lloret de Mar (€41.60) in hotel profitability. The municipal government views these indicators as motivation to promote policies that encourage year-round tourism, focusing on sports, gastronomy, culture, and family-oriented activities.

Mayor Klein concluded, "Tourism is one of the main economic drivers of Cambrils, but it must also serve as a tool to generate well-being and prosperity for all citizens. We want to continue growing, but we aim to do so in a sustainable manner, with respect for our territory and tangible benefits for the city."

These hotel profitability figures reinforce Cambrils' status as a solid and competitive tourist destination, committed to a sustainable and quality tourism model that generates both economic and social value.
