The Casa Consistorial in Pamplona has hosted six regional houses that make up the Federation of Regional Houses in Navarra, as part of the ongoing 37th Cultural Week. This year's programme is being hosted by the Casa de Castilla y León and will feature a variety of activities until Sunday, 23 October 2026.
The delegation was led by Jaime Valdeolmillos Marcos, who serves as both the president of the Federation and the Casa de Castilla y León. He was welcomed by Maider Beloki Unzu, the third deputy mayor, along with other municipal officials, who received around twenty representatives from the participating houses, including the Casa de la Comunidad Valenciana, the Hogar Extremeño, the Casa de Aragón, the Casa de Cantabria, and the Lar Gallego.
During the event, both Maider Beloki and Jaime Valdeolmillos exchanged commemorative gifts. The musical segment featured performances by musicians from the Federation, including the Pasodoble de José Mari and the Vals del Obispo.
Upcoming events in the cultural week
The 37th Cultural Week will continue on Friday with a performance by the group Viejo Castillo at 7 PM in Civivox Pompelo, followed by a chocolate tasting and typical dessert sampling at the Lar Gallego facilities. On Saturday, groups from the regional houses will parade through the city to attend a mass at the Church of San Nicolás, where a floral offering will be made to the Virgen del Pilar. They will then be received at the Palacio de Navarra and will showcase traditional dances on Avenida de Carlos III, before enjoying a communal lunch.
On Sunday, the celebrations will conclude with an excursion to Tierra Estella to visit the Monasteries of Iranzu and Irache, along with other local attractions. A communal meal in Ayegui will mark the end of the festivities.
The Federation of Regional Houses in the Foral Community of Navarra, established in 1989, aims to enhance the presence of regional cultures and strengthen their commitment to cultural exchange and coexistence.
