The match between CD Tenerife and FC Andorra, which was postponed due to an orange weather alert for heavy rain, is now scheduled to be played on Monday, 2 November at 13:00 local time (14:00 on the Spanish mainland) at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This fixture is part of the 12th round of LaLiga Hypermotion.
Originally set for Sunday evening, the match was delayed after the Cabildo de Tenerife activated the Insular Emergency Plan and closed several sports facilities, including the Heliodoro Rodríguez López, as a precaution against the severe weather.
CD Tenerife, managed by Álvaro Cervera, currently sits 12th in the league with 14 points, having achieved three wins, five draws, and three losses, scoring 13 goals while conceding 15. Their last outing ended in a 1-1 draw against Sabadell at Nova Creu Alta, and they have not secured a victory in over a month, with their last win being a 2-0 result against Leganés on 13 September.
FC Andorra, coached by Carles Manso, is in 20th place with 10 points, consisting of three wins, one draw, and seven losses, placing them in the relegation zone. They progressed in the Copa del Rey with a 0-3 victory at Las Gaunas but need to secure league points to escape the drop zone.
Cervera acknowledged the challenge posed by Andorra, stating that they “can cause a lot of damage” if they find space, and emphasised the importance of clarity in their ball circulation. “We need to win soon because, if not, everything we do or don’t do will be forgotten,” he remarked.
The two teams have not faced each other in official competition since 2024. Their last four encounters in the Segunda División have been closely contested, with each team winning once and two matches ending in draws. Notably, CD Tenerife has yet to win against Andorra at home, with two previous matches resulting in draws (1-1 and 0-0). Both teams have secured their victories on the road in Andorra la Vella.
For the upcoming match, Cervera will be without Salifo, Alassan, Baba, and Chapela, the latter of whom is training with the group but not yet match fit. César Álvarez is dealing with a finger injury, while Víctor Moreno has fully recovered. Cervera pointed out that the recent travel schedule has impacted their training, allowing only two days of full squad practice, which may leave the team more fatigued than usual. Nevertheless, he remains committed to his tactical approach, anticipating a formation with “three in the middle,” especially while Enric Gallego leads the attack. In this setup, Nacho Gil is expected to play as an attacking midfielder, with Víctor Moreno on the wing.
Andorra will also be missing injured players Gael Alonso and Théo Le Normand, while Diego Alende and Marc Domènech are returning from injury.
