the Sala Pescadería Vieja has opened its doors to the exhibition Casos de estudio, featuring the renowned sevillian painter ángel alén. The opening event was attended by the artist himself, the delegate for culture, major events, historical heritage and jerez as a cultural city, Francisco Zurita, and art expert Bernardo Palomo.

In Casos de estudio, ángel alén (born in Sevilla in 1975) explores the workspaces of contemporary creators and his peers. Through extraordinary technical virtuosity, the exhibition offers a profound reflection on the artist's studio as a refuge, a creative stage, and a fundamental environment in the artistic creation process.

During the event, Francisco Zurita highlighted the significance of this exhibition for the cultural landscape of the city, reaffirming jerez's commitment to artistic excellence and culture as a space for dialogue among various creative currents. In his speech, the sevillian painter expressed gratitude to the city council for their support in organising the exhibition and gave special recognition to his wife, whose assistance has been crucial in bringing this project to fruition.

It is worth noting that ángel alén trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Sevilla and has developed both 'metanarratives' surrounding contemporary art and notable works across various themes and posters throughout his career. His work is included in prestigious collections, such as those of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo in Sevilla and the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo in Málaga.

The Casos de estudio exhibition will be open to the public until 21 November, with visiting hours from Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 to 13:30 and 18:00 to 21:00, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:45. The exhibition will be closed on Sundays, holidays, and Mondays.
