The 46th edition of the Felipe Trigo Literary Prize will announce its winner on 20 November at 21:00 in the congress palace, marking one of the most significant cultural events of the year. Ana Mansanet, the councillor for Culture, highlighted the award's enduring evolution and growing recognition over the years.
Each year, the number of submitted novels continues to rise, attracting entries from across Spain and beyond. The prize is noted for its rigor, seriousness, and transparency.
The gala will be hosted by Ana Pecos, a journalist and communicator from Extremadura, and will feature a musical performance by Ismael Serrano, known for his poetic lyrics and social commitment.
This year's jury, presided over by Cruz Sánchez de Lara, a lawyer and author with a strong background in human rights and literature, includes Dolores Calzado and María Ángeles Alberto representing the Reader's Commission, María Isabel López from the University of Extremadura, Fernando de las Heras from the Association of Extremadura Writers, and Ignacio Fernández Garmendia from the Lara Foundation. Additionally, Diego Núñez, the winner of the previous edition, and Gregorio González, a finalist, will also participate.
The jury will select the winning works from eight shortlisted novels, showcasing diverse perspectives from the literary world.
