Gijón activates warning sirens in collaboration with SEPA

The City Council of Gijón, in collaboration with the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA), is set to activate warning sirens to help residents become accustomed to their sounds. This initiative aims to ensure that the population in affected areas, as well as resources linked to the local emergency plan, are familiar with both the alert and all-clear signals.

The activation of the sirens will also serve to verify the proper functioning of the mechanical systems and activation software. Residents are encouraged to review self-protection measures and listen to the alert sounds, which are particularly relevant in the event of a dam failure.
