Local holidays for 2027 approved in Aranjuez

The Municipal Plenary has unanimously approved, during its ordinary session in October, the declaration of Local Holidays for the year 2027. The holidays in Aranjuez will be celebrated on Friday, 28 May, in honour of San Fernando, and on Monday, 6 September, coinciding with the Fiestas del Motín, which have been declared of International Tourist Interest.

The selection of these dates was discussed in the Festival Committee, which included participation from political groups, neighbourhood associations, business organisations, and trade unions. María Belmonte González, the Delegate for Festivals, stated, “In line with our commitment to participation in the selection of public holidays, we convened the Festival Committee on 16 October. I would like to thank the political groups, neighbourhood associations, business organisations, trade unions, and all participants for their presence and especially for their active and collaborative attitude. For 2027, we propose to declare local holidays on Friday, 28 May, and Monday, 6 September. This way, we address the request from the hospitality sector by placing a holiday on a Friday, while also responding to the retail sector's demand by scheduling the other holiday on a Monday.”
