Local officials visit judo activities at Salesianos school

Santos Martin and Alejandro Rodríguez have highlighted the importance of collaboration between public institutions and educational centres in promoting healthy lifestyles and constructive leisure activities. The councillors for Education and Sports visited Salesianos San Juan Bosco school this week to gain insight into the after-school educational offerings, specifically the extracurricular judo programme.

Accompanied by the school's management team and judo coordinator Daniel Castillo, the officials observed a training session with students, appreciating the educational and social value that this sport brings to the local youth. The judo project at Salesianos La Línea has established itself as a benchmark within the school's extracurricular offerings, focusing on a methodology that goes beyond physical training.

Through the practice of judo, instructors promote fundamental values of the Salesian philosophy, such as respect, discipline, personal growth, teamwork, and a sense of belonging in a welcoming and safe environment.

During the visit, the councillors underscored the significance of joint efforts between public institutions and educational centres to foster healthy habits and constructive leisure options for the children and youth of La Línea during after-school hours. They also commended Daniel Castillo and the entire team of instructors for their dedication and the positive reception the activity receives each year.

In response, Salesianos La Línea expressed gratitude to the municipal representatives for their interest in the sports initiatives taking place at the school, reaffirming their commitment to the comprehensive development of the city's youth in both academic and leisure contexts.
