Manu Guill, the sporting director of CD Tenerife, has confirmed his automatic contract renewal for an additional two seasons, following the club's promotion to the Segunda División achieved in May. Guill made the announcement during an interview with Radio Club Tenerife, as reported by EFE.
Having joined the club in April 2025, Guill's primary objective was to return Tenerife to professional football and establish a team capable of maintaining its status in the league. His contract renewal was activated due to the successful fulfilment of this goal, meaning he will continue to oversee the team's operations until 2029. Should the club achieve promotion to La Liga, his contract could extend for another two years, lasting until 2031.
Regarding the current squad, Guill expressed confidence in their capabilities, stating, "It is fully guaranteed for the category." He acknowledged the need for the sporting direction to adapt to the coach's preferences while emphasising that the club has its own vision and criteria that extend beyond just the coach's input. "With this squad, if we do things right, we will meet our objectives," he added, expressing satisfaction and confidence in the team's current roster.
