The Diputación de Palencia has announced its 'Convivencias en la Nieve' programme, which will provide 400 places for skiing enthusiasts across three destinations: Grandvalira, Baqueira-Beret, and Sierra Nevada. This initiative, which has over 35 years of experience in promoting sports in the province, aims to encourage sports practice, skiing skills, and social interaction through stays at some of the leading ski resorts.
Programme details
The programme will run from January to March 2027, featuring a total of seven trips. Grandvalira, located in Andorra, will have the highest number of places available, with five trips scheduled: January 10-16 (50 places), January 17-23 (100 places), January 24-30 (50 places), February 28-March 6 (50 places), and March 7-13 (50 places). In total, 300 places will be offered for this destination.
Baqueira-Beret will host one trip from January 24-30, offering 50 places, while Sierra Nevada in Granada will provide another 50 places from January 31-February 6.
Costs and inclusions
The cost per person will be €780 for trips to Grandvalira and Sierra Nevada, and €890 for the Baqueira-Beret trip. Accommodation will be provided in four-star hotels: Art Hotel in Andorra la Vella for Grandvalira, Hotel Tuca in Vielha for Baqueira-Beret, and Hotel Gran Luna in Granada for Sierra Nevada. Each trip includes coach transport from Palencia, double or triple room accommodation with breakfast and dinner, a five-day ski pass, ski equipment rental (skis, boots, poles, and helmets), and ski lessons lasting 15 hours in Andorra and 10 hours in Baqueira-Beret and Sierra Nevada. Meals will also be provided on the slopes, with various options depending on the destination, along with accident insurance covering potential incidents during activities.
Application process
Interested individuals can apply for one trip only. The allocation of places will prioritise 70% for residents of municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants and 30% for residents of the provincial capital. Applications must be submitted using the official registration form, accompanied by a photocopy of the ID of all participants and proof of residence, by November 20. Documentation can be submitted at the General Registry of the Diputación or via its electronic headquarters.
The Sports Service of the Diputación de Palencia will manage the applications, and if demand exceeds available places, a public draw will take place on November 26, 2026, at 10:00 in the Provincial Cultural Centre's assembly hall. Additionally, large families may benefit from a 10% discount in the general category and a 20% discount in the special category.
This initiative, organised by the Sports Service, reflects the Diputación de Palencia's commitment to promoting sports as a healthy leisure activity and fostering social interaction, providing participants with the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable sporting experience.
